Bull’s-eye: Target Market Identification
Are you an entrepreneur who has not identified your target market?
Perhaps you find yourself aimlessly targeting everyone which is like targeting no one.
If so, you need to stop doing what you’re doing and ask yourself: who do you want to serve?
Making your target market someone with a heartbeat and a pulse will get you nowhere.
Think about the practical side of this as well.
Let’s say you pick-up customers or clients who fit all types of personalities and needs.
As your numbers grow, you will find that you must execute your business differently for the different types of clients you have.
Now this is not a problem for a large corporation, but it is certainly a problem for the sole proprietor.
Simply put, you will not be able to scale your business if you’re doing different things for all kinds of different people.
So get focused. Get targeted. And figure out who you want to work with.
The more targeted you are, the easier it will become to formulate your offerings and services around that market.
Remember, this is your business.
One of the primary reasons you got into business is because you wanted freedom.
You have the privilege of choosing with whom you want to work.
Don’t hijack that privilege by trying to work with everyone.
